A 66ª edição anual dos Golden Globe Awards teve lugar no passado Domingo, 11 de Janeiro, no The Beverly Hilton Hotel. Depois da “assombração” da greve sentida no ano passado, o glamour voltou ao tapete vermelho e à cerimónia em geral. Muitos foram os apresentadores famosos da noite: Drew Barrymore, Pierce Brosnan, Sandra Bullock, Gerard Butler, Glenn Close, Patrick Dempsey, Johnny Depp, Cameron Diaz, David Duchovny, Jake Gyllenhaal, Salma Hayek, Dustin Hoffman, Jessica Lange, Eva Longoria, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Mendes, Demi Moore, Hayden Panettiere, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Susan Sarandon, Martin Scorsese, Sting, Emma Thompson, Sigourney Weaver, Renee Zellweger, entre muitos outros. Uma verdadeira noite de estrelas!
O filme "Slumdog Millionaire" foi o grande vencedor, levando quatro galardões nas categorias a que estava candidato, incluindo Melhor Filme e Mehlor Realizador para Danny Boyle. Kate Winslet recebeu dois Globes, por Melhor Actriz Dramática em "Revolutionary Road" e Melhor Actriz Secundária em "The Reader”.Não menos surpreendente foi "The Wrestler", que também teve direito a dois: Melhor Actor Dramático para Mickey Rourke e Melhor Canção para Bruce Springsteen. Destaque para a entrega póstuma do prémio ao Melhor Actor Secundário para Heath Ledger.
